ABOUT
LRLR is a Toronto-based electronic alt-rock band made up of Peter Chapman (multi-instrumentalist, writer/producer), Steph Copeland (vocals, writer/producer), and Michelle Osis (modular synths, writer/producer).
Focussed on creating noisy, lyric-driven songs that draw from experimental, post-punk and alt-rock production resulting in a cinematic sound rooted in resistance.
All three members also work professionally as composers for film and television, with their work spanning drama, thriller, horror, documentary and video games.

Peter Chapman is one of Canada’s busiest composers. Blending high-energy excitement with his signature endearing wit, Chapman has crafted an award winning sonic stamp that transcends genre - from comedies like Working Moms (Netflix) and The Lake (Amazon Prime) to gritty sci-fi horrors like Wynonna Earp (CTV), high-octane dramas like Skymed (Paramount+), and quirky animated kids shows like The Happy House of Frightenstein (Family Jr).
Peter’s first foray into music for TV came in 2001 when he dropped off a cassette of experimental pop tracks conceived in his bedroom with the security guard at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) in Halifax. Three weeks later, his music was being synced to CBC’s teen show Street Cents.
In the decades that followed, he became one of Canada’s go-to composers, producing renowned scores for hit video games such as LittleBigPlanet Karting, ModNation Racers, Guacamelee, and Sound Shapes (sharing a credit alongside Beck and Deadmau5), as well as hit HGTV shows Renovation Island & Leave It to Brian and Amazon’s comedy The Lake.
Along the way, he’s picked up two Canadian Screen Awards (with an additional three nominations), a Canadian Screen Music Award (with an additional six nominations), a SOCAN award, and an ASCAP award. He also placed first in Toronto’s Sound Battle Royale, beating out 31 other hip-hop producers, and released a viral Beastie Boys/Daft Punk remix record titled Daft Science, which was crowned by Billboard as one of the top Beastie Boys remixes of all time.
When not composing, Peter can be found trying to squeeze one more synthesizer into his Parkdale, Toronto, studio clubhouse.
Based in Toronto, Steph Copeland is an award winning screen composer, producer and recording artist, best known for thriller, drama and genre film scores. To date, Steph's taken home six Canadian Screen Music Awards including best score for a Narrative Feature Film (The Retreat, Outpost) as well as best score for a Television Special (MTV's Binged to Death, Lethal Love), and has earned four Canadian Screen Award nominations since 2024. She recently provided additional sound design and additional music in A24's 2026 viral horror Undertone.
In 2023, Copeland worked with the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra and acclaimed conductor Anton (Tono) Popovic in Bratislava, producing and recording her feature film score for political drama ‘Réveillon’.
Steph began as a singer-songwriter and electronic artist in Windsor and Detroit, performing and touring with fellow artists on both sides of the border. Her original songs have seen placements in series such as Tiny Pretty Things, Snowpiercer, L.A.’s Finest, UnREAL, animated series Mysticons, The Unicorn Academy and more. She continues to co-write and produce from her studio in Toronto collaborating with national and international artists.

In addition to composing for the screen and songwriting, Steph occasionally takes on the role of music director. opening the Canadian Walk of Fame inductee ceremony conducting ensemble performances for the SOCAN Awards and 2018 TIFF Gala. Steph is a classically trained vocalist with roots at The Royal Conservatory of Music.
Originally from Sydney, Australia, and now based in Ontario, Canada, Michelle Osis is an award-winning composer for film and television. Her work has been screened at festivals including TIFF, HotDocs, the Austin Film Festival, Cannes, and Fantasia.
Michelle is noted for her work in the horror/thriller genre and documentaries. Her credits include the acclaimed films Juggernaut (dir. Daniel DiMarco), Shudder's Night of the Reaper (dir. Brandon Christensen), Hulu's Carved (dir. Justin Harding), and Abandoned (starring Emma Roberts and Michael Shannon). She also composed the score for Dark Match (dir. Lowell Dean) and Bloodthirsty (dir. Amelia Moses), the latter of which won Best Score at the 2022 Bloodguts UK Horror Awards. With four Canadian Screen Award nominations to her name, Michelle recently earned a Canadian Screen Music Award for her work on the crime thriller series Murder on the Inca Trail, and was shortlisted for the inaugural Billboard Canada Screen Composers of the Year Award.
Her latest projects include co-scoring the Sam Raimi Netflix horror/thriller feature Don't Move (#1 on Netflix’s Global Top 10 Movies) with Mark Korven, as well as the second and third seasons of the MGM series of Billy the Kid, and the IMAX documentary T.Rex, collaborating with the Budapest Scoring Orchestra. In addition to her composing work, Michelle has shared her experience as an instructor in horror scoring at the SCGC Academy.
A skilled synthesist and classical pianist, Michelle is an alumna of the Canadian Film Centre's Slaight Music Residency program, chaired by Mychael Danna. She holds a Graduate Certificate in Screen Music from the Australian Film Television Radio School and a Bachelor of Music in Composition and Music Production from the Australian Institute of Music.
